About

Vertically integrated by design

In commercial real estate since 2003, and focused on medical real estate since 2015, Recentric owns and operates the buildings healthcare runs on — sourcing, underwriting, converting, leasing, and managing them in-house.

How we think

Darren founded Recentric after co-founding Rocky Mountain Commercial Brokers, an alliance of independent brokers built to compete with the national firms. That conviction — that focus and control beat scale — still defines the company.

As an owner, Recentric applies it by doing the work itself: off-market sourcing, data-driven underwriting through CRE Labs, office-to-medical conversion, and in-house leasing and property management. Controlling every step is what protects the downside and drives accretive returns.

Our mission

Recentric delivers accretive investor value through disciplined asset management and operational excellence.

Team

The people doing the work

A nine-person firm where the portfolio manager builds the software, the acquisitions associate runs the research, and the operations lead is the person tenants call.

  • Darren Nakos, CCIM

    Darren Nakos, CCIM

    Managing Partner

Sources and underwrites the firm’s acquisitions.

Darren founded Recentric Realty Capital and has worked exclusively in syndicated commercial real estate investment, multifamily development, and brokerage since 2003. He sources and underwrites the firm’s acquisitions, and holds the CCIM designation.

He was also a founding partner of Rocky Mountain Commercial Brokers, an alliance of independent brokers formed to compete with the national firms — a conviction about independence and local knowledge that still shapes how Recentric operates.

Before real estate, Darren built Winebid.com, the online auction company he sold in 2002.

  • Carl Luppens

    Carl Luppens

    Director of Development

    Leads development and construction.

Carl has developed more than 3.6 million square feet of office space and 535 acres of land, built 18 office buildings and three apartment complexes, and has five ground-up developments to his credit. He leads Recentric’s development and construction work.

He holds a law degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and is the founder and chair of the University of Colorado Real Estate Council.

  • Eric Rehm

    Eric Rehm

    Director of Portfolio & Platform

Runs the portfolio and leads the firm’s platform work.

Eric runs Recentric’s portfolio — leasing and renewals, capital projects, budgets, insurance and vendor contracts, and the operations team.

He also leads the firm’s platform work: the data and analytics tools Recentric builds for its own research and reporting, and the new operating concepts it tests in its own buildings.

The pairing is deliberate. Recentric’s tools are shaped by the people who negotiate its leases and manage its capital budgets — not by a vendor working from a requirements document.

  • Amy Nakos, JD

    Amy Nakos, JD

    General Counsel

Real estate, contracts, landlord-tenant, compliance, and risk.

Amy advises Recentric on real estate, contracts, landlord-tenant matters, compliance, and risk reduction. She began her career as a commercial litigator in Chicago, handling matters ranging from $20,000 to over $30 billion. She holds a JD from the University of Iowa, is licensed to practice in Colorado, and also holds a Colorado real estate broker license.

  • Salima Dadani

    Salima Dadani

    Director of Finance

Financial modeling, accounting systems, and stakeholder reporting.

Salima leads Recentric’s financial modeling, accounting systems, and stakeholder reporting. She brings more than 20 years across finance, operations, and management, including executive roles in several industries. She holds an MBA from the University of Phoenix and a bachelor’s degree from UCLA.

  • David Norton

    David Norton

    Director of Operations

Facilities across the portfolio; the person tenants call.

David runs facilities across the portfolio — vendor selection and coordination, preventive maintenance, building systems, grounds, and the daily issues that come with occupied commercial buildings. He is the person tenants call, and usually the person who shows up.

David brings more than 15 years working on commercial properties, and a bias toward solutions that are effective before they are expensive.

  • Tyler Shields

    Tyler Shields

    Broker Associate

Sources and screens off-market deals; runs the research behind them.

Tyler works Recentric’s acquisition and disposition pipeline — sourcing and screening off-market opportunities, running market and comparable analysis, and supporting transactions from first contact through close. He also supports property management, leasing, and sales across the portfolio.

He is the firm’s day-to-day operator of its market data and research tools, and does much of the underlying research that acquisition decisions get made on.

Tyler holds a BBA from Colorado Mesa University, where he graduated magna cum laude and earned a real estate certification with high honors.

  • Ella Anderson

    Ella Anderson

    Marketing & Growth Coordinator

Runs marketing, growth, and content across all three audiences.

Ella is the person behind Recentric’s marketing engine — managing everything from LinkedIn and email campaigns to paid media, CRM, and content strategy across all three of Recentric’s core audiences. A recent graduate of the University of Colorado Boulder, she brings sharp instincts and a hands-on approach to executing Recentric’s marketing strategy. When she’s not working, she’s training for her first marathon or out exploring Colorado with her friends.

  • Jennifer Luberto

    Jennifer Luberto

    Administrative Assistant

    Administrative support across the firm.

Prior to moving to Summit County and joining the Recentric team, Jennifer thrived in industries in New York and New Jersey ranging from automotive to private equity. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Fordham University in Business Administration and Economics. She left the “tri-state area” to find a successful career in an active environment that only Summit County could offer.

Jennifer has been a Summit County resident for over 6 years and has worked in residential property management and real estate. During the Covid lockdowns, she decided to obtain her Colorado real estate license and is a licensed real estate broker. In her spare time, Jennifer loves spending time with friends and family, mountain biking, snowboarding, hiking, skinning and exploring!
